First, let?s set the record straight?

Yes? Yes, indeed, it is all true.

Medicom will be creating Kubricks and other products based on characters from the SPAWN universe, including a SPAWN Bearbrick, a SPAWN VCD (Vinyl Collectible Doll) and a 12-inch articulated SPAWN, complete with a cloth costume. Full details (including size, price, paint variations and availability) along with images will be announced in a NEWS story in the coming weeks, so stay tuned.

I can understand not doing the Bearbrick, since that's copyrighted (yeah, like that stopped him with Miracleman), and the VCD could be one of those Japanese licenses...
But the 12 inch figure could be easily done in house. They even have worked with cloth before for the plush lines. The factories can do it, heck, VERY cheaply if I remember. It is easier if you already have the body molds made, like the other company has, but McF could do it quickly and cheaply and then keep all the profits (and produce other figs later).

Maybe Steve just had too many other things to work on, he didn't need to be worrying about all those other new molds. Yeah, I place the blame squarely on Steve's shoulders!

These are a pass for me. I skipped on the smaller stuff (3" line) initially because it was going to be hard to find what I wanted (they never showed up on any shelf around here), and that pretty much concluded my interest in the not-full-sized Spawn realted figures.

Looks like McF Toys are trying to stick their necks out without getting their heads chopped off. Pesonally, the only interest I have in this is the hope that a Spawn injection for HeroClix happens as a result.

Actually, having Medicom do them makes great sense. No cost associated, straight profit from licensing, going with a company that has an excellent track record for quality.

I'll be looking to get one of the 12" ACTION FIGURES, but yea, they'll be pricey. Medicom stuff runs anywhere from $100 - $200 generally speaking. I'll be reviewing their 12" Symbiote Spider-Man Sunday night.
